I read somewhere that drawing mandalas is supposed to be a sort of spiritual, self-reflective, stress relieving practice, so I decided to give it a try. Here's attempt number one.
Another simple poster design for pop-punk band Motion City Soundtrack. Lyrics are taken from the song "Attractive Today."
An incredibly simple poster I tossed together at 4:00 in the morning for an American punk rock band called Babes In Toyland. The lyrics are from a song called "Vomit Heart."
Clearly this girl was born in the wrong decade, because she pulls off these ultra glam shots flawlessly!
Just a few photos I dug up from a few months ago. Lo is always a blast to work with and I was really excited when she asked to do a pin up photo shoot. Decided to whip up a cover photo for my favorite crusty old man, the poet laureate of skid row, Bukowski.
This is the beginning of a landscape series featuring buildings and spaces that are often dilapidated, uncared for, and overlooked. I personally find these spaces to be the most interesting. By capturing these images, I hope to be able to highlight the simplistic beauty found in these unexpected places. If you have ever taken the time to read through my Thoughts&Things blog on this website, there are a handful of quotes printed on these light bulbs that might sound familiar. The idea behind this still life series is pretty straightforward: ideas written on light bulbs. More specifically, the thoughts that creep into your head late at night when you're trying to fall asleep. These are all thoughts that I have had, many of which are documented here on this website. However, simply documenting them didn't seem like enough. I wanted to make them visual, to make them visible. So here they are, late night thoughts scribbled on burnt out light bulbs. Thoughts that never became anything but thoughts... until now. When I started this series I didn't think there would be much interest. Who would feel comfortable enough to strip down to barely nothing and let me take pictures of them? It turns out, the response I got was amazing. Everyone was so excited to jump in and be a part of this project. For me, that's what really gave this series an impact. It shows how, to some level or degree, we all are affected by negative body image, but there is no one standard of beauty. These women are all beautiful.
