Insignificant
His mind is racing.
She watches him pacing,
Wondering about the revalations he's had,
Wishing she knew where the pain was coming from,
Why he always looked so sad.
It's hard to believe his dark eyes used to be so bright.
His sullen soul used to hold so much life.
His heart's well tried,
Shoes well worn,
Eyes rimmed red from the tears he's cried,
Insides ripped up and torn.
Thoughts beyond recalling.
Sick of all this stalling.
Wasting time,
Wasting away.
Barely alive,
Dying more day by day.
Feeling, thinking, seeing,
Wishing with all his being,
That the answers would come.
But only darkness comes.
People take their leave.
Life is always so fleeting.
Foot prints wash away.
But on heart and soul they remain.
Through all of life's changing scenes,
We're so small, insignificant, in the grand scheme of things.
If only she knew.
She's the reason he does the things he does do.
And he wants so badly to make her proud.
But he's been hiding underneath this dark, rainy cloud.
And all she wants is to make him smile.
That's something he hasn't done in awhile.
Vision blurred by tears,
Words not spoken, held back by fear.
If only they knew.
Think of all that they could do.
Their lives could be so much better,
If they just had someone, were together.
But it doesn't matter anyway.
Eventually we'll all just die, rot, decay.
Foot prints washed away.
Only on other dying hearts will they remain.
Through all of life's chaing scenes,
We're so small, insignificant, in the grand scheme of things.
