Blankets And Sheets
Soft,
Black as the pure night's sky,
I lie,
Swallowed up in the warmth
Of blankets and sheets,
Silk on bare skin,
Sound the lullaby heart beat.
Safe,
Strong as the wish to never leave,
I believe,
Encompassed in painted arms,
Gentle, holding me close,
In the calmness of your breathing.
Soon,
Swifter than on angels' wings,
I know,
The light will come and you will go,
Silently, like a fading dream at sunrise.
I only see you when I close my eyes.
Black as the pure night's sky,
I lie,
Swallowed up in the warmth
Of blankets and sheets,
Silk on bare skin,
Sound the lullaby heart beat.
Safe,
Strong as the wish to never leave,
I believe,
Encompassed in painted arms,
Gentle, holding me close,
In the calmness of your breathing.
Soon,
Swifter than on angels' wings,
I know,
The light will come and you will go,
Silently, like a fading dream at sunrise.
I only see you when I close my eyes.
