In A Bottle Out At Sea
Put me in a bottle and threw me out to sea
Bobbing across the blue water
Made of my tears and broken dreams
Drifting, drifting, always farther
From all those all those awful scenes.
When you and I were together
You were angry, rude, obscene
At last you told your friends "Let's let her -
Let her be."
Put me in a bottle and threw me out to sea.
Now the waves are crashing
It's dark and I'm alone
Now the waves are splashing
My bottle up against sharp stones.
The glass breaks and shatters
Drawing blood from my pale skin
My clothes are all in tatters
I fear I just can't win.
But I've reached land, I think.
And I've been here before
Slowly my heart sinks
As I see you standing on the shore.
Back where I began again
You'd think I'd run away
Somehow I'm always drawn back in
For some reason I always stay.
Put me in a bottle and throw me out to sea.
Maybe this time I won't come home.
I'll find new company.
Bobbing across the blue water
Made of my tears and broken dreams
Drifting, drifting, always farther
From all those all those awful scenes.
When you and I were together
You were angry, rude, obscene
At last you told your friends "Let's let her -
