What Are We Even Fighting For?
This fierce and bloody battle
Has left us all homeless.
Together we are alone.
We have nothing left.
And yet we find more to give,
To sacrifice.
Another soul,
Another life.
It will all be over soon,
Or so we pretend.
But that doesn't help.
It doesn't change what's at hand.
We try to claw and carve safety out of this chaos,
This mayhem,
This hell.
Only to realize,
We've put ourselves in the front line.
We can't turn back now.
There's a wall blocking our only way out.
Willingly we die,
Hoping others will have a better life.
Fighting to end the fight.
Has left us all homeless.
Together we are alone.
We have nothing left.
And yet we find more to give,
To sacrifice.
Another soul,
Another life.
It will all be over soon,
Or so we pretend.
But that doesn't help.
It doesn't change what's at hand.
We try to claw and carve safety out of this chaos,
This mayhem,
This hell.
Only to realize,
We've put ourselves in the front line.
We can't turn back now.
There's a wall blocking our only way out.
Willingly we die,
Hoping others will have a better life.
Fighting to end the fight.
