Please Take This For What It Is: Cheap Therapy
Please, take this for what it is:
A statement of regret
For falling so fast for
Someone I just met.
Unlocking doors
Bolted shut,
Dusting off secrets,
Resurrecting emotion from its casket,
And thinking all the while
I'd been given a second chance,
Decieved by a beautiful smile
Into something that could never last.
Please, take this for what it is:
My heartfelt apology.
I see no fault with you.
The blame must lie with me.
Crimson red hate
Of intentions always pure,
Self-destruction bent on love,
Hopeless for a cure.
Sound the cries and
Cue the tears,
Fade to black at last.
Sans hate,
Sans love,
Sans hope,
Sans fear.
Please take this for what it is:
My long overdue goodbye,
A letter of resignment,
The purgery of my heart's own life,
A contaminated hatred
Fueled by an impossible love,
With suicidal grace,
I write this as all of the above,
Wishing not for your
Simple understanding
Or your human touch,
Unconcerned with a love demanding,
Knowing not to ask that much,
All I'd ever ask
Is an honest explanation,
The truth behind the reason why
I wasn't good enough.
