Here Is My Heart
This, this half-dead,
Gory mess I hold
Within my shaking,
Trembling hands --
Is my heart,
And it's your's,
If you want it, love.
I know, it isn't
Something to be
Desired.
It has been broken
More than once,
Shattered
At least twice.
The seams have come
Undone
And it hardly seems to
Suffice.
Truly, You deserve
Something better.
Surely, You want
Something more.
But I tried to fix it
For you at least.
I patched up
The holes,
Filled the
Cracks
(As best I could)
I even dumped
Some glitter
Over it,
To make it
Sparkle.
Tied a bow
Around it
For presentation.
I know,
It's not an
Even trade,
Your heart,
For mine,
But I see you smile,
When I smile,
At you.
And that twinkle
In your eye
That blush
In your pale cheek
It tells me you aren't
Just being polite.
So, could I maybe
Hold your hand?
Could you hold
My heart close
Tonight?
Gory mess I hold
Within my shaking,
Trembling hands --
Is my heart,
And it's your's,
If you want it, love.
I know, it isn't
